How to Create an Ad Set

What is an Ad Set?

Ad sets are a collection of Ad Campaigns used to manage your advertisement settings on one or more players. Ad sets are the actual object that links between your selected Ad campaigns and the player.

  11. Optional: You can remove a selected Ad Campaign from your Ad Set by clicking 'Remove'.

  12. Optional: The Enable/Disable toggle button allows you to select which Ad Campaign requests will be sent or skipped when this Ad Set is triggered by a player.

  13. Optional: If you want to share this Ad Set with other Companies (outside your White Label/Affiliate Company), apply the required fields according to the following table:

    Field Name Description
    Availability scope

This field is part of our content restriction functionality that defines on which portals your playlist can be viewed according to the following options:

    • Everywhere - Playlists will be available for viewing on any Portal depending on the user's permissions.

Note: This is the default setting.

    • Only on my white label - playlists will be available for viewing only on your white label (your private branded exchange).

Note: All AOL partners connect to the same AOL On Portal. In this case, we recommend you set the 'Availability scope' to 'Everywhere'.
    Accessibility

The Accessibility field is part of our content restriction functionality that defines which other companies (White labels and/or Affiliates) outside your Company account will be able to see and use your playlist, according to the following options:

    • Public - All companies within our platform will be able to view your playlist (this includes Vidible and Be On partners).
    • Private - Only users with access to the owning Company of the playlist will be able to view this playlist (all users under the selected Company).

Note: This is the default setting.

    • Blacklist/Whitelist - Selecting this option will allow you to define, on a more granular level, who will be able to view your playlist.
      • Blacklist - Selecting this check box will allow you to pick specific Companies that wont be able to view your playlist.
Only the selected companies will be restricted while all other will be able to view your content.
You can use this option to blacklist a specific Affiliate Company under your White Label, or restrict entire Company Groups (such as, Vidible and Be On Partners).
      • Whitelist - Selecting this check box will allow you to pick specific companies that will be granted view permissions to your playlist. Only the selected companies will be able to view your videos while all the others will be restricted from viewing.
You can use this option to whitelist a specific White Label or Affiliate Company or a Company Group that is outside your Company Account (for example, a Publisher partner).

  14. Click on 'Save'. Your Ad Set now includes the selected Ad Campaigns and can be assigned to a player.

Note: Once the Ad Set has been created and saved, the Debug Ad Set Request tool will be made available to test and see ad request calls. For more information, see Understanding Ad Set Debug Request.
