Content Uploading Options

Our system provides a variety of ways to upload videos. This article describes all our supported upload methods and the benefits of using each one.

Upload Options

The following table describes our supported upload options:

Upload Method Description
Manual Upload via the Portal

Upload single or multiple video files to the Portal and edit their metadata during the process. Our upload process supports the following methods:

  • File upload - Upload a file directly to the Portal. For further details, please see Supported video formats.
  • YouTube link- Point to YouTube videos and players using a YouTube URL address.
  • External links - Point to a video located on your own CDN.

Note: When using the YouTube/External link, the original video file is not imported into our platform. The video object in the Portal only points to the location of the video in YouTube or on your CDN.

Create Video API

Upload single/multiple videos to your Company using our API. Using our API you can upload videos directly to your Company account by passing video JSON objects.

For further details, please see Create video (upload) API.

MRSS Feed

Link an MRSS feed you are hosting privately to our platform. Videos and metadata defined in the MRSS Feed will be ingested into our platform.

Note: Your MRSS Feed must comply with our standard .xslt transformation file that maps between properties in your MRSS Feed to objects and metadata in our platform.

For further details, please see How to Create a Feed.

YouTube Channel Import

Import videos directly from your YouTube channel into the Portal. This process will import the highest available rendition file including the video's Title, Description, and Tags.

MRSS Over FTP

If you have an MRSS Feed but you don't have a place to host it, we can provide you with an FTP folder. This allows you to host your personal MRSS Feed .xml file on our FTP folder, and additionally upload any video files to it. In this case, your MRSS Feed should point to each of the video files hosted on the FTP folder. Videos and metadata defined in the MRSS Feed will be ingested into our platform.

Note: Your MRSS Feed must comply with our standard .xslt transformation file that maps between properties in your MRSS Feed to objects and metadata in our platform.

For further details, please see How to Setup MRSS Over FTP Import.

FTP

If you don't like using MRSS, we can provide you with an FTP folder. To this folder, you will upload both videos and accompanying metadata files. Both the videos and the metadata files will be ingested into our system.

Note: Each video file must have a metadata .xml file to accompany it.

For further details, please see How to Setup FTP Import.
