How to install FireFox Firebug and HAR Log saving software

Installing Mozilla Firefox web browser (if it's not installed yet)

  1. Go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ and click on the 'Firefox Free Download'.




  2. Click on Run button on the File Download popup window:




  3. On the Security Warning window click Yes button:




  4. Deselect the 'Make Firefox my default browser' check box and click on Install button:



  5. On the next window select Don't import anything option and click on Next button:



    Mozilla Firefox browser is installed now.

 

Installing Firebug add-on

  1. Using Firefox web browser open https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firebug/url and click on Add to Firefox button:



  2. Click on Install Nowbutton on the Software Installation pop-up window:



    Restart Firefox browser when the installation process is complete. Firebug add-on is installed now. 

 

Installing Web Developer add-on

  1. Using Firefox browser open https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-developer/url and click on Add to Firefox button:



  1. Click on Install Nowbutton on the Software Installation pop-up window:

Restart Firefox browser when the installation process is complete. Web Developer add-on is installed now. 

 

Installing .HAR saving tool (NetExport extension)

  1. Using FireFox browser open http://getfirebug.com/releases/netexport/netExport-0.8.xpiurl and click on Install Nowbutton:

Restart Firefox browser when the installation process is complete. HAR saving add-on is installed now. 

 

Installing ConsoleExport firebug extension

  1. Using FireFox browser open http://getfirebug.com/releases/consoleexport/consoleExport-0.5b5.xpiurl and click on Install Nowbutton: 



    Restart Firefox browser when the installation process is complete. ConsoleExport add-on is installed now. 

 

Configuring Firebug and Web Developer add-ons

  1. Disabling web browser cache:
    Click on Disablebutton at left side of the Web Developer add-on toolbar and then check Disable Cache item from the drop-down menu:



  1. Enable Firebug panels: 
  2. Click on small arrow near Firebug icon and select Enable All Panelsfrom the drop-down menu:

 

Saving Firebug Net trace output (.har file)

  1. Using Firefox open url for that you need make a trace.
  2. Click on Firebug iconto open Firebug trace panel.
  3. Refresh the page clicking on Page Refresh button (this is a small circle at left side of the address line).
  4. Click on Net tab of the Firebug panel, wait until a video complete.
  5. Click on Export -> Save As... buttons:



  1. Specify a .har file name and click on Save button:

Provide the .har file to Vidible support team for future analysis.

 

Saving Firebug console output

  1. Using Firefox open url for that you need to debug.
    2. Click on Firebug iconto open Firebug trace panel.
    3. Refresh the page clicking on Page Refreshbutton (this is a small circle at left side of the address line).
    4. Click on Console tab of the Firebug panel, wait until a video complete
    5. Click on Export -> Save As... buttons:

  2. Specify an output file name and click on Save button:

Provide resulting .html file to Vidible support team for future analysis.
