How to Create a Live Stream

What is a Live Stream

Live Streams allow you to engage your audience by broadcasting a live video experience across multiple platforms using our player.

How Are Live Streams Created in Our System

A live stream is actually a video that is hosted by an external URL and broadcasted over the internet. In the Vidibile system, Live streams are created using Video objects that are then assigned to a Player.

Requirements

  • Predefined player - to create a new player click here.
  • HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) stream url address - a video stream technology used mostly for Apple’s iOS and Mac devices that is also expected to replace Flash HDS streaming.

Create Live Stream Content

  1. Go to the Portal by clicking here.

Note: If the 'Set Company' field in your Company context menu is active, this field will automatically set the owner company to your selected company context. 5. Go to the 'ENCODING PROFILE' field and enter the name of an encoding profile that will be used to create appropriate video renditions for your uploaded videos. Relevant results will be displayed in a drop-down list from which you can choose from.

Note: This field is commonly set to 'AOL Videos Renditions' according to your default Company settings. If you do not have any default Encoding profile set in your Company, this field will remain blank and require you to select an appropriate Encoding profile in order to continue.

Note: If you do not have any previously created encoding profiles, please refer to How to create an encoding profile.
