How to Create an App in App Studio

To create an app, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the portal by clicking here.

  2. Hover over 'TOOLS' and go to 'OTT' in the Portal menu. An additional menu is displayed.

  3. Click on 'APP STUDIO'. The App Studio list page is displayed.

  4. Click on 'CREATE APP' and select your app platform from the drop-down menu. A new App Studio page will open displaying the App Templates screen.

  5. Click on the 'Template A' icon to set it as your app template type.

  6. Click on 'SAVE'. A template type for your app is selected and the 'TEMPLATE & DESIGN' tab of App Studio edit page is displayed.

  7. Mandatory: Enter a name for your app project. This name will identify your app project in the Portal.

  8. Click on the 'COMPANY' field to search and select the company that will own this app project.

    Note: The default company is inherited from the user's company context menu.

  9. Under the 'TEMPLATE & DESIGN' area, apply the required fields according to the following table:

    Field Description
    APP TEMPLATE COLORS

    Click on this field to define the color of the template according to the following options:

    • DARK - The app template will have a black background.
    • LIGHT - The app template will have a white background.
    HEADER ICON

    Mandatory: Click on 'Upload File' button and select a required file from the Finder/Explorer window to be uploaded as a header icon for your app.

    BRAND COLOR

    Enter a relevant color number to set a brand color for your app.

    Note: Clicking on this field will open a viewport. Use manipulators inside to set the required color.

  10. Mandatory: Upload the icons for your app by clicking on 'Choose File' button and selecting a required file from the Finder/Explorer window according to your app platform type according to the following options:

    Note: Hover over a tooltip near the icon field to see where in the app template this icon will be located.

    • For iOS (mobile) platform type:

      Field Description
      ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the apps list.
      STORE ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the store menu.


    • For Android (mobile) platform type:

      Field Description
      ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the apps list.
      STORE ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the store menu.
      THUMBNAIL PLACEHOLDER Add an image that will be displayed as a temporary thumbnail for a video while loading its actual thumbnail.


    • For Apple TV platform type:

      Field Description
      LAUNCH SCREEN IMAGE Add a launch screen image for your app.
      ICON FRONT LAYER Add an icon for your app front layer.
      ICON BACK LAYER Add an icon for your app back layer.
      TOP SHELF IMAGE Add an icon for your top shelf image.
      THUMBNAIL PLACEHOLDER Add an image that will be displayed as a temporary thumbnail for a video while loading its actual thumbnail.


    • For Android TV, Fire TV platform types:

      Field Description
      ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the apps list.
      APP ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the store menu.
      THUMBNAIL PLACEHOLDER Add an image that will be displayed as a temporary thumbnail for a video while loading its actual thumbnail.


    • For Roku TV platform type:

      Field Description
      ICON Add an icon for your app that will be displayed in the apps list.
      LAUNCH SCREEN IMAGE Add a launch screen image for your app.
      THUMBNAIL PLACEHOLDER Add an image that will be displayed as a temporary thumbnail for a video while loading its actual thumbnail.

    Note: The 'APP TEMPLATE PREVIEW' on the right displays how your app will look like according to your selected settings.


  11. Continue applying settings to your app in the 'DETAILS' tab.
